What would you use? Presently I have some kind of Hasting rings that I bought a couple of years ago when rebuilding my 434. SBC. I want something that last longer than just a few thousand miles using 1/16, 1/16, 3/16ths Wiseco pistons. 4.155 bore and 4 inch stroke
I was looking under GM performance on Hasting rings and they have a couple choices.
1. PVD coated top ring. Stainless napier ducle iron second, low tension oil.
2 Steel Moly top ring.
Or what do you guys like that seem to last a long time
"some kind of hastings ring"
Not the cast rings?
Ductile iron is much stronger. just file the ends and see how long it takes compared to cast.
Steel is said to be even stronger, like for 1000hp turbos.
If any ring butts it will wear really fast. so watch the end gap, maybe increase it.
