I'm looking for a dual tip that will fit in the opening on my 73. Prefer stainless and none of the ones that change the sound. Anyone know where I can find these? I think I saw some on a 73 on this forum at one time but can't remember whose it was.
If you are like me, you have the strait pipe coming of the muffler so the angled original tip will not work. BUTTTT after sending a set back what I thought where super cheesy made parts, instead of the pipe portion being welded in tight and bent for the muffler it was actually was strait and just spot welded on a couple tabs and mats up at an angle! Wish I had a picture to clarify how cheesy it was. Well after thinking about I whought that might be good. I think I will order another set and detach the strait pipes, have them flanged and welded sticking stait out the back then weld that to the mufflers tips. I like the look of the square tip and want to go back to it. I went to a 3 inch slant cut stainless steel set for now. Sorry no help on finding a set of twin tips, try looking in all the major parts catalogs.
The GTO catolog I have (Paddock I beleive) has some dual tips as most Pontiac muscle cars had them. Lots of differtnt tips in adds in my street rod mags also.
Odd how they don't show the 73 tip. Just image the 70-72 ones with an oval hole in it and instead of the pipe going in strait, it is at angle and not cut square to the bezel so when you look at from the front you see the pipe coming through at an angle and not cut flush. Cheesy IMO.
Chris, check 72rdstr's post on Hooker Headers. He is selling a fairly new set of exhaust tips for 20 bucks. Not sure if that's what your lookin for but it's worth a shot. Good Luck, L8TER, Paul.
