BURNT A/C SWITCH...WHAT NOW?
while in my console i noticed that the electrical part of my switch is burned where the contacts make contact when in a/c max position...it still operates but it is burned and funky looking...
is this part of the switch replaceable without spending the $179 for the whole control??

Maybe. Same thing happened to my ex- '85 Camaro. I was able to replace just the switch. Go to a dealer's parts counter and see if the part is separate on the microfiche.

I think that's the part you're looking for.... there's a few other parts and pieces for an A/C control rebuild on page 83 of Zip's catalog.
I'm sure the other corvette places probably have it too.

If its not burnt too bad use a emery nail board to file the contacts clean,if there only slightly burnt u can fold a new dollar bill in betwen the contacts and pull it through with the switch closed a few times will do it.
