base zq3 upgrade
I have recently been posting about what to do with the heads on my 70 zq3. I have decided to rebuild the 186 heads with bigger valves (2.02/1.60) screw in studs, guide plates, springs, port and polish, etc. Not sure about the lower end of the zq3 engine. I would like to keep the comp at 10.25:1. Car has a performer intake on it, which i could switch out with a rpm intake that came on a 71 c-10 i just bought. I could use some help on cam selection, push rod length, etc. Car has a 650 performer carb, which i think is crap. Looking at a 650 double pumper, or been hearing about the quick fuel. By the way looking for about 425hp out of my 300hp zq3. Can any help, i'm no kind engine guru, just looking for some solid build specs or a point in a good direction
