Anyone changed from Mechanical to Electric Gauges?
If I sell my car (may happen with the boy headed to college :( ), I would probably replace it in the future with a '74 that needed work instead of another '77 that had just been refurbished (that's what I did 8 years ago).
Anyway, one of the custom jobs I'd like to do would be a digital dash, so...
I'm curious, how much of a pain is it to replace sending units and plumb the wires to the gauge cluster?

I've been looking at doing this, and I've decided I will probably get these http://www.intellitronix.com/dp2001.html
They are $100 less if you get them from Summit.

It looks like an easy installation.
I didn't really like the look of that until I saw that you can get it in Green too...I am curious exactly what the speedometer and tach look like...

I'm in the middle of doing it now. No problems so far except that I have 1982 with crossfire injection and there's an extra speed sensor that I had not counted on. Look on http://www.corvettefaq.com in the Interior section. There are a couple of descriptions on how it was done on earlier models.
I bought red as this was supposed to be the most visible in daylight. Otherwise I might have opted for another color. You will also need the speed sender unit which you can get from Summit.

Check out Dakota Digital http://www.dakotadigital.com/Detail....TR6D-68C-VETTE. They are quite a bit more expensive, but in my opinion look a lot better. I saw these in a 74 at a show about a year ago and they looked great.
