82...81...80...79 Engines
I spent the weekend reading threads on this forum & watching football. I've pretty much narrowed my choices down to two years: 1980 or 1990 (non-ZR-1).
The '80 because it doesn't have CFI, CCC & it does have curves, curves, curves!
The '90 because it's the last year with a front/rear end styled sorta similar to late C3's & it has 245-hp vs 190-hp, TPI vs carb, 0-60 5.6 seconds vs 7.3 seconds, roof panel vs t-tops.
I'm torn between the looks of the '80 & the features of the '90. I value the opinions & experience of forum members. Which do you think would be more fun on highways & road trips?

Personally if I had to chose I would go with the C-3.
There is also a misconception that you can get rid of the smog stuff upgrade a couple of things for a grand or two and the car will have 360hp like in the 60ties therefore it will run with today's sports cars
This statement is wrong on so many levels that I wont even explain if you don't ask...
I don't mean to discourage you, but its better to be discouraged than disappointed!

I love the '80 and love the fact that if something needs fixed, tuned, or upgraded... I can do it myself! I pulled the stock engine and built a 383. I'm not a mechanic and I don't have any engine building background. I just read a lot on here and ask a lot of questions. Now I am doing another '80 from the ground up with the mods that I think will make it handle exactly like I want. All the while, I'm still driving my first car! There is nothing like a C3 - that's why Chevy went back to the Stingray to inspire the C7!
Id love too but the cost would be about 10 grand? plus the tires wont transfer that so I'll have to update the rims and modern rubber ($$$), then the pumpkin and peripherals will go down the drain($$$).
As a matter of fact I would consider the 200r4 for a simpler swap and the final gear ratio is similar to 5 or 6 speed, heck I wonder why nobody makes 1:0.3 OD ratio- that would help the most
