Hello, this is my first post. I am working on my 1969 C3 350 engine. I purchased it not to long ago. It has sat for for years. Im am cleaning the gas tank. it didnt look bad inside, some varnish on the bottom but I can clean it. I am installing a new fuel sending and pick up unit. I want to clean out the fuel lines also, what is the best way to clean out any varnish that may be in the lines, or should i just install new fuel lines.
Replace all the rubber lines, and you can flush the steel lines with alcohol if you feel the need to. The rubber line between the frame and fuel pump is a specialty part. The hose off the roll at the parts store will kink.
Installing new lines is an option, but probably not needed, and is not an easy thing to do without pulling the body off the frame.
As long as the lines dont look rotted out then get a can or two of break cleaner and shoot it through those old lines into a can of some type. Keep your drop light away from this activity. Then blow them out good with compressed air.
Doing new lines with the body on would be a real challenge.
