Won't start unless Steering Wheel is down
My 77 won't start unless the steering wheel is almost completely tilted down. I've heard that there is a switch on the column someplace with a rod that controls this and it just needs adjusting. Does anyone know anything about this.

The switch is at the bottom of the column. 5/16 nuts to loosen and adjust, however, most of the time when this is occurring the column housing for the tilt is bad causing a lot of looseness in the column.

Is it only the START function that only works with the head tilted down? For instance, can you turn your ignition key to ACCESSORY with the head tilted all the way UP (or any position).
There is a die cast rack inside the column head that sometimes breaks. Depending upon where it breaks sometimes you can get the ignition key to work with the head tilted in certain positions.
