wiper motor electrical gremlin
i have a weird situation with my new 79 vette i would love to figure out. my wipers will only work, and work perfectly, when the drivers door is open and the dome light and the kick panel lights are on. i close the drivers door and the wipers do not work. the wiper fuse has been changed and everything is plugged in and looks good. when the doors are closed and i turn on the wipers you here a little click but the wipers do not work. i open the door and they work great. the dome light works great when the drivers door is open but when i try to turn it on at the headlight switch it does not come on and the wipers do not work when the headlight switch is turned to the left i get nothing. open the door and turn on the wipers and they work just fine.

Check the ground. Clip a jumper wire from the case of the wiper motor to something on the engine and see if it works. If so, check the ground for the wiper and heater motor to the starter bolt.
