I wave all the time at C3's when I'm in the Z, but most totally ignore me. Maybe I need to get a color that stands out more? I think they are probably stuck up just because they drive a classic car.
I have best luck with chrome bumper cars, except for 68's, but we know what kind of owners they are :jester
Most, not all c5ers, wave. Women very rarely wave. I doubt that my wife would wave (if I let her drive my car without me). She understands she is supposed too; she's just too shy to be waving at men.
This debate constantly rages and experience varies widely. I find that there are some clueless people driving each generation. I've received blank stares from all. Sometimes they just don't see you. I always wave and I usually get one back. Last Saturday was great, I saw five or six vettes (mostly C5's) and all but one waved. The best was a C5 that pulled up behind me at a stoplight. I noticed them in my rear view mirror and waved. Both the driver and passenger immediately waved back excitedly.
It's interesting to get the responses from the C5ers to this post. It goes to show that all members of the CF are true Corvette enthusiasts and most have a respect for all generations of the car.
It's my guess that most of the C5's that don't wave are basically clueless about the history and heritage of the Vette. I wish they would just drive Volvos.
