MOST of the time Comp & Crane cams are true to the card HOWEVER I have seen them NOT correct I always take the time to degree the cam in on ANY hi-po build I do, TO MAKE SURE its right. The human factor........NO ONE is perfect.

You took the time to post all that. I can take the time for a slight apology. Because my post on the 29.9mpg was kinda smart-*** and Matt I'm not a smart-***. I always tuned my past carbed cars for HP not mpg, So with that in mind w/ an OD-tans, tall rear gear, syn. oil the right tires and the Q-jet tuned for maximum mpg and at a constant elv. I can believe 29.9mpg w/ a spread bore. Sometimes it takes me a min. to believe something that I THINK?? I know all about. btw the power levels posted on my crossfire was w/ NO acc & no air cleaners off that # you'll lose AROUND 30-40 hp w/ all acc on less if you use electric fans and water pump. w/ engine installed in the car & AT the rear wheels probably be ABOUT 240-275 hp, at the most. Enough said on that subject, I try to help and learn also, DEFINITELY NOT a BSer because I DON'T like to be BSed. Hope you have a good day. [ I've raced cars & motorcycles all my life now older and low income so I NEED to be MORE open minded because I could LEARN something that in the past..did'nt matter]

I need to know the CORRECT lbs/hr on the factory inj's? Because with the spacers I MIGHT need to go up in inj size to maximize my combination? We tried a higher # than the 15psi, HOWEVER any higher than that caused the a/f/ratio to go lean above 4000rpm's. I think my combo would do A LIL more with larger inj's. There in the mail now getting them bored to 51mm and going w/80lb inj's.

Not to get off subject but I was in pep boys in bridgewater nj and they have a big performance section with edelbrock fuel injection for $1500. I was wondering if they would take it back after trying it out to see if its worth it??? LOL

There is ONLY a few places that do any mods on Crossfires heck most of the stuff I've done is from past builds an trying to combine EVERYTHING to match the maximum flow rate of what you can do w/intake tbi's and inj's. Only take the stock system so far............an past that yer wasting money......wish santa would bring me a Renagade!!!!! Then you could get some serious gains out of it!! like OVER 400hp.

Just buy a 4L80E same tough turbo 400 with overdrive would have to use a computer to run it. Those gear venders are so expensive you could do the 4L80E cheaper. All you need is the overdrive having six gears would be worthless to use on a 454.

My SS Silverado is running the 4L85E and its a solid trans! But I was pricing some transmission control units for it and those F'ers are expensive! The cheapest one was $1000 for a 4L85E ....ouch

the gear vendor is EXPENSIVE however rated at 30,000 + TOW RATING, good point on eating up HP. The 4L-80E would need a switch [no big deal] to lock up the convertor. When ever the old 400 gives up its ghost?? I will look into the 4L80,[junyard] its gotta be cheaper than a gear vendor-$3,000!!

Well let me correct myself. I don't think 6 speeds are worthless on anything but not any big need for one when cubes get big. But if you want six gears GM has made some strong six speed transmissions as of late.
