I agree. No need for clearancing the Hedmanns. If it were not for the extra long aftermarket dipstick tube on my passenger side, both headers would be easy out just jacking the front end up and removing the collector and cylinder head bolts.

I put the 81 version with AIR tubes on my 78 to retain the AIR system.
The 81s are 2.5" the 82s are 2.25". Both (including th enon AIR) bolt right up to the factory exhaust system..no donut gasket required.
