Default 1-Man Harmonic Damper Removal?

My damper is stubborn. Add to that, I've removed all of the spark plugs and the crank turns pretty easily. I've ready where you can wedge a crow bar in the (automatic-equipped) flywheel but I think that means I need somebody holding the crow bar under the car as I turn the bolt in the puller with my breaker bar.

All of the front accessories and belts are removed.

Is there no easier way?

Crank should not be very hard to hold. If you are by yourself you can use a large screwdriver between two of the balancer pullers attaching bolts. Do not use the screwdriver between one of the bolts and the puller center shaft. Lube the threads on the center shaft. Sometimes the balancers come off with a sharp crack, sometimes no sound at all. Best of luck for an easy pull. mike...

GREAT idea! I have a long screwdriver that will work perfect between the puller bolts as opposing leverage against the puller.

I forgot to mention that I can normally hold the crank by grasping the bolts by hand. To protect yourself or the bolt threads use an old towel to cushion them. mike...

If I can't hold it as described above, I've wedged a prybar between the flexplate and the bellhousing so as I turned the bolt to remove the balancer it wedged even tighter.
