Default Kill Switch

I found hidden under the shift boot an ignition kill switch. It is not currently hooked up. What is the general consensus? Good idea or a waste of time because it won't slow down a real thief. Getting ready to pull the dash to redo the Htr/Ac system and fix the firewall wiring junction. Be a good time to either hook it up or remove the unused wiring.

Thiefs come in various levels of sophistication, it will stop or slow down the low end of the scale. Hooking it up wont cost you anything. I have one in my car.

Hook it up, most automatics i see have the kill switch under the ash tray, easy to splice into the neutral safety switch, purple/white wire.

Not very creative but will slow someone down.

Yeah, hook it up.

Not all thieves will have their ducks in a row and the truly brazen who try to jack your ride, should pay a small penalty if all the motor does is either nothing or crank with no start.

It's one reason why I never allow a valet to park my ride. I slide him a 5-spot (hey, it's Colorado, not L.A.) to show me where he wants it and gives me a little peace of mind. Has kept the joy-rides to nothing and I keep the keys. I haven't been turned down... yet.
