Default Ceramic coating

How much heat reduction is obtained from ceramic coating? I'm thinking of maybe treating my 1969 sidepipe mufflers.

How is the coating applied? And can it be painted?

Hi Bellaireroad, I'm not sure how much heat reduction is provided by ceramic coating but I believe it is fairly significant because usually it allows normal headers to installed without wrapping them.

I had my headers coated in a high lustre color and they look like they are stainless now. It was a great decision in my opinion. I know they can also coat in many colors as well. The normal colors usually are red, black, gold, and many other colors. So if you pick a color that matches your needs then you won't have to paint the mufflers afterwards.

Hope this info. is helpful.

Thanks.... Helps a lot... Reason I was asking about the paint is I may decide to go NCRS at some point and might want to put down a paint on top
