She's sitting in the garage with a dead battery, 1/2 a steering system and a carb badly in need of an rebuild. I've been so busy in the last few weeks that any spare time I get is spent sleeping. Just quit my job (today's my last day), wife has been sick all week, which means I have the kid 24/7, haven't been on the forum in two weeks..blah blah (woe is me, woe is me)
BUT! Wife is getting better. Grandparents are taking the kid for a weekend and I'm a half hour away from happy hour with the gang. Oh and did I mention the new job is giving me a BIG OL' signing bonus? And we all know what that means: VETTE PARTS
Don't worry baby, daddy's coming home to fix you up right :D
Re: While my corvette gently weeps.. (Monkeywrench)
I'm reporting you to the Corvette Welfare Department, going to tell them that you have been neglecting your vet :yesnod:. They will make you take better care of her and their better not be any new marks on her .

Well it looks like you have your priorities right anyway :D If you need help just give me a call or drop in, I'm off starting this Tuesday morning. BTW, if you need a temp/new carb I still have that Edelbrock in the garage. Welcome back to the outside world

Mine is in about the same shape, except the whole motor needs a rebuild, new exaust system, new interior, blah blah blah. And worst of all i have never worked on a car before in my life, well i am only 19. So I need to learn how to do this stuff ;) It will be fun.But I wont get to put money into it till I get paid on the 10th, got to pay my parents off which is still 2 paychecks away.
I bought the car this way, not expecting it to be this bad, 1 month ago. I couldnt go look at the car, it was in washington. But i look at it this way I will have fun with the car, getting it to run and then to drive it. I have started it a few times and the neighbors have allready noticed, they have been coming over and admiring the car. I guess thats what happens when you have a 454 with no mufflers, and who knows what else is missing on that exaust, all I know is it is extremely loud.

:boxing I know the feeling. My right rear wheel bearing went out in Feb. March I ripped out the rear suspension for rebuild. The while I'm at it's got way out of hand and I ended up doing an entire rear suspension / drivetrain rebuild, plus the frame restoration (body on), new gas tank and restoring everything under the car from the driveshaft aft. I only got it together a little over a week ago! Hang in there - the corvettes are patient cars. :)
