I'm in the process of refurbishing my glass T-tops and have a couple of questions :
-- what is the best way to remove the remains fo glued on weaterstrip ?
- How do you repair the black that is on the glass between the edge and seal ?
Some lacquer thinner can remove that glue. There is also weatherstrip adhesive remover from 3M
As for the 'black out' check with a glass shop. It has been a long time since I have cut out glass but we had a bottle of black that was applied to cover up those marks.
I will say thatt replaceing the Weather Strips on my Glass Tops was a lot harder than I exspected. I don't remember whos weather strip I used but it wasn't Cheap it was the best grade that one of the major vendors offeresd. Basicly it was to short and had to be Streched to make it fit. And with all the wet Glue it made for a real mess. Lots of C-Camps. I spent way more time on them than the rest of the car. But it did work out in the end. To do it again I would be very temped to send them to somebody else.
