Advice needed on troubleshooting headlights
Headlights on my 82 came on tonight, but wouldn't pop up. The release under the steering column didn't help so I lifted them up by hand. Any advice on troubleshooting the problem (do's and dont's) would be appreciated.

Start looking for a vacuum leak, from the headlights on up to the reserve tank. Then check for vacuum at the actuator relays in the small line on top.

Check the vacuum section on this site. It helped me solve my problems and its really not as complicated as it seems. Just take your time ,don't get frustrated and you'll find it. http://www.corvette-101.com/

Problem solved, I hope. Last night when the lights wouldn't open, I found the large line going to the power brake booster disconnected. This morning I found the main line / connector just off the manifold was disconnected. Interesting thing was that both lines made tight connnections when I hooked them back up. Makes me wonder how they came loose to begin with. With the lines being so close together it makes one wonder whether someone had puilled these loose. Anyway thanks for the info, I'm sure it will come in handy in the future.
