I have a 1975 Corvette and I get no blinkers at all. I swapped out the fuses and I now can hear the clicking noise (like it is blinking) but no lights come on. I do have back lights and brake lights but no signal lights. I have not checked to see if the bulbs are blown but I find it unlikely that every blinker light (both front and back) are blown. Anyone have a blinker troubleshooting guide to figure out where the problem lies?
Your flasher is bad. In a 75 im pretty sure its located under your passenger side dash. Go to your right vent on dash and underneath the dash in that area youll find the flasher plugged into a connector. Its supposed to be in located in a metal clip but many times theyre broken, so people will tuck it under the dash higher to keep it from flopping around. Good luck
Will the flasher prevent the lights from coming on at all? I have a 78 Vette that wouldn't flash but the lights still came on, they just didn't flash. This one the light do not come on at all.
I think that this scan comes right out of the Chevrolet Chassis Service Manual. It is in Microsoft Word foramat. (Sometime I hope to have sufficient time to convert a lot of my papers to pdf format.) http://jimshea.corvettefaq.com/?p=935
Anyway, two of the trouble shooting segments indicate to replace the flasher.
A couple others indicate that you should unplug the turn signal harmonica connector from the vehicle wiring harness. Then take a new turn signal switch and just plug it into the harness and see if that fixes the problem. I know that most of you just don't have a spare switch laying around (as compared to a dealership service department.) The other issue is that a lot of suppliers will not allow you to break the packaging on electrical components and still be able to return the part for credit.
Maybe you can find a friend or Corvette Club member that has a spare switch for the test. (I am quite sure that most (if not all) GM turn signal switches in that same time frame could be used as a test switch even if it isn't a special Corvette T&T switch.)
