1973 Seatbelt Buzzer/Light
Guys, got some new seat belt retractors which do not have the electrical connection for the warning system. Can I access whatever I need to disable this system while I have the carpet out? I'd prefer to not pull the dash if that's possible. If I can avoid modifying anything and just pull something out of the car, that's the route I would prefer.
Extremely novice electrical terms would be appreciated.

You do not need to do anything to disable the system, simply leave the wires disconnected.
The system used in 72-73 works by having the retractors provide continuity when the belt is fully retracted, without the retractor connected, it will not provide continuity, and your light/buzzer will never come on.
My retractors were a rusted hump, and I replaced them with aftermarket retractors without the electrical connection. But I wanted the belt warning system to work, so I purchased the much easier to get, and much cheaper, later receivers with the electrical connection. These will work, but the receivers provide continuty when the belt is connected, which is the opposite of what the 72-73 retractors do, so I needed to add a couple of relays to reverse that.
