battery dead again
I go through a battery once a year. I have a new alternator of 6 months but it dosn't seem keep the charge. The volt meter will stay in the middle for awhile and drop to abot 12 during a ride at night. During daylight it stays in the middle or close to it. I do notice that if I have my dash lights on I get the biggest drop on the voltmeter. If I turn them off it goes back but never to the middle. This is an auto,a/c car with aftermarket radio but nothing big. The battery dosn't draw power when all is off. I tested it with the light meter and No draw was evident. Could the lightswitch be faulty that it would cause this or the wiring to the gauges? How can I test these.

Have you tried to lift the positiv cable from rhe battery when the car is idleing?If it dies,the alternator is gone,if it still works,its fine.. :smash: :smash:
