Center Outlet Exhaust
You're right, rags and duct tape would be a lot cheaper than what I was thinking of using. I thought of plugging the inlets and outlets with multiple turbocharger boost leak tester plugs ($24 each) so five of them would be $120 (already have one).
Superior responded yesterday and suggested I use a distributor that carries their flux. Nearest dealer is in Augusta, GA so I'll be calling them. Superior will direct-ship me a one pound package of their 9H flux for $50 plus $5 (small order surcharge) plus shipping -- if the place in Georgia isn't willing to ship it to me.
I have a spare regulator so the rags, tape and second source of Argon is doable. Cyberweld will ship me a full 40CF tank of Argon for $165 and I should be able to find a spot for a fourth cylinder in the garage.
Because they have huge deposits of titanium ore, Russia (Soviet Union) was able to make their submarine hulls using titanium alloys. Far as I know, the US stuck to steel alloys for our submarine hulls. An argon-filled manufacturing building sounds like something they would do. A step up from the salt mines.
