Default Manifold and Carb setup

I have a 1969 corvette with 350 / 350 H.P. I have a high perf cam, headers and 2.5 pipes. Any suggestions on manifold and carb setup? I do not feel I'm getting the performance out of the stock setup and I want to keep stock hood!! Thanks

I was right with you until you said you wanted to keep the stock hood. There`s not a lot you can do without going to a taller manifold. The best street manifold on the market is generally considered to be the Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap, but its not likely to fit under your stock hood. As for a carburetor, every carb has its followers. Personally I like Holleys. The Quadrajet is also an excellent carb if set up correctly. I find them difficult to tune, but guys who know what they are doing can make them perform extremely well.

I use this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wnd-7530/overview/ with a Holley Street HP 650 DP. I also have a billet 2" air cleaner on top. It fits under my stock '76 hood and goes like a scared cat. If I'm losing any low end torque due to a single plane manifold, then I guess I just didn't need it in the first place - I still have plenty. Every bit as driveable as the Edelbrock Performer it replaced.
