Default Vaccuum lines

Anyone have vaccuum line diagrams? have a '74 L82, rochester q, manual trans. The hose from the vac adv goes nowhere. there is an open port on the carb but the line doesn't reach i think the guy I bought it from screwed up the the placements and want to get it set up right. it does run without the hook up now.

MACHEEN,

Lars Grimsrud is THE engine guru. Do a search for his timing articles and hook up that vacuum line to the manifold. Put a hose on any open pipes sticking out of the carb and test for vacuum on them with the engine running. For now, block any off that are sucking ambient air. Once you are familiar with the timing system, check all of your other vacuum lines and connect them where necessary.

Regards from Down Under.

You are better off placing the vac advance line on a manifold vacuum source, such as the port on the rear of the carb, rather than the ported or timed source that the smog controls used.
Nevermind, missed the 74. Yours should be manifold vacuum.
