I started my vette today for the first time since Christmas! I began my body off resto right before Christmas and now all of this hard work is beginning to pay off. I have been working all weekend preparing my freshly rebuilt 69 350\350 4-speed vert for breaking in the cam. After some starter wire problems and connecting every thing up correctly she started the first crank!!! I immediately reved her up to about 2000 and kept an eye on the oil pressure and temp. The oil pressure started out at about 55 and dropped to about 35 after she warmed up. The water temp climbed to about 210 after running it for about 15 minutes and stayed there until I decided that the cam had enough time for break in about 25 min. This thing purrrrrrrrrrred like a kitten without skipping a beat. It was truly music to my ears. I am going to change the oil and filter and continue on with the body off rest. The body and painting is next.
Glad it went well Steve...
I still remember the night I fired mine up for the first time..Open headers screaming into the evening and bringing out all the people I had never met before...you know, we did move not to long after that :yesnod:
oh yea..good luck on the body and paint

Yes after having everything stripped and apart for so long you begin to wonder it this thing will ever run again. After hearing it run for the first time in 6 mo it breathes new life in you and you know it will see the highway soon. Thanks guys for the replies. It's good to share this with guys that can relate.
