Default 1980 build (race only)

OK, IM WAY BEHIND ON THIS (BECAUSE INSTEAD OF TAKING PICTURES, ALL WINTER HAS BEEN SPENT GETTING READY FOR SPRING)!!! AND OUR LOCAL TRACK OPENS IN LESS THAN A MONTH. BUT THE CAR MOVED UNDER ITS OWN POWER LAST NIGHT, AND I AM PREPPING THE BODY SO I CAN SPRAY PAINT NEXT WEEK. SO..... I REALLY WISH I HAD SNAPPED MORE PICS ALONG THE WAY AND I HAVE ALOT MORE UPDATED ONES, BUT HERE IS SOME OF MY PROGRESS. I WILL TRY TO GET THE LATEST PICS AND UPDATES ON ASAP.

to be honest, i can't be sure!! I estimate about 400hp give or take just on carb with the components i have in it. The fogger system is set at 200hp so it is pretty radical but i've never had it on a dyno. It ran really well in the setup i had before.

Hey all out there, been a while since i have been logged in!!!! Just thought id bump this thread by posting my new best E T and times on my auto fab 4 link setup and my old racecar!! Thursday night i pulled off a 6.316 at 110.54 mph in the 1/8 th !!!!!!!!!!! Thats my best ever in this car Its getting there!!!!!! gonna try for some 5s by next season we got a few races left but the car is running good so im not gonna try and change much else this year. I ran the 1/8th mile and shut down because of my gearing but it still crossed the 1/4 at 10.500 but at 99.64 mph I will try and work on my thread and post the slip and some recent pics soon. hope everyone is doing great.

great ETs ! what size tire are you running ?with NOS short shift 500 rpm below NA peck hp .consider some 4.30 gears ,the nos adds alot of torque if you do it right .what fuel pressure do you run ? what is your bottle pressure at ?

Yeah !!!!! We've been working on the trigger issue he's doing pretty well that pic was taken almost a year ago. Time gets away but thats very good advice thanks i started with 275/60 et radials but i am now running a 28 x 11.50 bias ply they were too cheap to pass up from a buddy, i will use them up this year and go to a true slick next spring they changed the rules at our local weekly test and tune and they dont have to be d.o.t. Anymore. 5 psi to the fuel solenoids on flow test, short shifting does help, 4.30 gears are already in the works for this off season, try to keep bottle psi between 950-1000 but still working out the bugs. Im still running all glass and need to put the doors and dash and front bumper support on a big diet. Future plans will be pin on doors and a light glass front clip.

I MADE IT INTO THE HIGH 9's

MY BEST 1/8th SO FAR IS 6.223 @112.85mph WITH A 1.470 60ft. MY CAR DEFINATELY DOESN'T LIKE THE 1/4 WITH THE TALL GEAR. JUST LOOK AT THE MPH DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 1/8 AND 1/4 !!!!!!!! WE WON'T BE RUNNING 1/4 ANYMORE WITHOUT A GEAR CHANGE. (BY THE WAY THATS QUITE A REACTION FROM HER!! HA HA) IF IT LETS YOU SEE THE VIDEO???? I CAN'T TELL !!!!

Summit Racing is 10 minutes from my work and a guy at the pickup counter had just bought hollow plastic doors for a 67 NOVA. I ask about them and they could be installed as openable doors. Call them and see if they have c-3.

It felt like 10 pounds or something.

As to the zues fastner front ends. All I have ever seen is the later model vettes and firebirds because of the low CD. It also takes a tube front end to fasten to.

Thanks i'll give Summit a call. I think I may have found a front end. If someone has time and is interested check out Hairy Glass in FL. Let me know what you think!! I think I remember it saying it weighed like 20 pounds. That would be huge weight savings. But at 1k you would be wanting it pretty bad. I haven't had any luck on doors. If I can't find any I will just gut mine out as much as possible. I'm going to fab them to swing but lift off also.
