Tranny problem. What next?!
A day before my car goes to the shop my tranny starts acting up. (It's auto) From a stop, when i accelerate and the rpms get to about 4000 then it has a very hard time shifting gears.. the tach jumps around for a bit and does not shift gears... This happened last summer and i replaced the modulator valve and got a tranny flush and new filter and it seemed to solve the problem. Now it's back again. What could it be? Are the gears messed up? Am I going to need a tranny rebuild?

Mine was doing the same and it was a vacuum leak somewhere in the headlight mechanism. Try plugging the vacuum line behind the carb that feeds the entire headlight system and see if that helps.

I just took it for a drive this morning and it wasn't doing it? Yesterday when it happened i had been driving for about 3 hours prior to that. Could it just be because the car was running for so long and the tranny fluid got too hot?
