Ok, so I think I've gathered that manual 75 and later sharks either a Muncie or Borg Warner was used, with 77 (I think) being the cut off for the Muncie. However, my real question has to do with automatics. I know that they were all pretty much 3 speeds (TH350?) but at some point in like 81 or 82 they went to a four speed. What four speed is it? Is it a turbo 400?

I believe the tranny's go like this for the C3's, 68-74 were Muncie's, either M-20,M-21,or M-22. 2.20:1 first in the 21-22. 68-74 autos were Turbo 400's, I think the Muncies and the turbo 400's went out at the same time as the Rats since the high torque ratings were no longer needed with the Rats demise. Then the ST-10's came out for the manuals in either an M-20 or M-21 version and the autos went to turbo 350's. Then in 82 the 700R4 appeared which was a 4spd auto, third gear was still 1:1 but 4th was an overdrive. Don't quote me on this stuff, this is just how I think I remembered it.
