383/400 builds in question....
In Chevy Hi Performance, May 2013 under the story title "Modern Injection"
This story pretty much spell out the advise I give anyone who is building a strong street engine that likes it to play nice with AC in traffic.
Basic build parts are:
400ci 4.125x3.75
180 64cc aluminum heads with 2.02 intake 1.60 exhaust
1:5 rockers
@10;1 compression
Mild 230@.050 w/.502 in. 520 ex.
It smacked down 435hp at a happy 5300rpm
Tire shreading 486lb-ft at.......wait for it...........4000rpm
That's like having a 70 501 Cadillac engine in your vette with half the weight and the same drivability
check it out if you get a chance. Nothing was ported or worked. All bolt on parts and you can swap and trade out some parts with very similar results
