I need to install wheel studs about 1/2 to 3/4 inch longer that fit the stock holes on the axles & hubs on my 78 C3.
Anybody know a manufacturer and part number of any like I need?
3) Get the ones that are too short, but fit (which isn't recommended by anyone :p )
I have been wondering why nobody suggests that. It would make the install a lot easier and as long as the threads on the lug nuts are fully engaged I can't see a reason it wouldn't work. I haven't really looked at them but the same thread and knurl are available in 1 1/2 inch length. Isn't there at least 1/4 inch of the studs exposed when the lug nuts are fully tightened?
Sorry for hijacking the thread.

I used Moroso parts on my (Non-Corvette) race car some years ago...Summit has them. Just measure the thread diameter and pitch (threads per inch) and they will have the ones you need.
If the axles have to be pulled to get longer studs in so be it but having looked through the entire NAPA & Dorman catalog longer studs with the correct heads to fit the existing holes seem to elude me. That's why I was hoping someone on forum may have already dealt with this and knew of anything I might have overlooked or something I can get from Summit.
There aren't any longer studs available that fit a corvette. Your only option is to remove the spindles and drill the holes to .480 and use the ARP 100-7701 long 7/16 studs. There is no such thing as a .480 drill bit so you have to have one machined.
