Default MSD Ignition System

What real world differences would I see in an MSD ignition vs stock on my 72? Performance gains? Quicker starts? Smoother running? If it REALLY makes a dramatic difference in overall operation of the car then I would make the switch. Any and all inputs would be very much appreciated.

Default Re: MSD Ignition System (midget)

I have a MSD 6AL. I originally got it for the rev limiter. If your stock system is in good working order I don't think a MSD will make any difference. I think it will still fire a motor running extremely rich or if the stock system is iffy know you have a good system like the MSD makes it for a more confident system. My system is more then 10 years old and never had a problem fouling a single plug. It also gives mulitple sparks at lower speeds and multilple anything can be a good thing or bad. :)

I agree with Norval. On a stock system there is no benifit. On a modded, high compression system it's worth it tho...
