I have the original AC 40770 pump. Needs a rebuild.
Has anyone done business with Goat Hill. I need a referal on him before I send my pump off to him.
Also does anyone know another person who rebuilds these ??
I am considering rebuilding the pump myself. Does anyone have experience with the krimped edge. I think I can slice the edge with a very thin cutter vertically. Next I will heat the edge so it expands and remove the bottom half. Swap in the parts from a replacement pump. Then clamp down the krimped edge and weld the cuts shut. Then I will sand and paint with a silver paint. It wont be perfect but it will at least be original ???
I bought a replacement pump that is an AC delco. It looks identical but does not have the " AC" cast into the body. I was going to take that pump apart.

Lots of negative comments on Goat Hill over in the NCRS Discussion Board. Poor service/no service, unreturned calls etc etc. In fact, I believe he is no longer advertising in the Driveline. I bought an AC Delco pump for my big block from Paragon. Works fine.
