Default New exhaust arrived today

Ok , the exhaust I ordered from CC arrived today. It's a dual conversion kit from the manifolds to the magnaflows out back. 2 1/2 pipes ,new hangers ,etc.Is there anything I should know before I start installing the kit. Thanks for your input.

Assemble everything. Get it straight, level, etc. Then tighten all the clamps. Thats about all there is to it. The biggest job is getting the old one off.

I just ordered the same kit for my '76. Is your car a manual or auto transmission? Let me know how the project goes and please share any words of wisdom after you finish the install. I will be tackling this same project next week.

So with the Magnaflow mufflers, there is no way to get them tucked up under the car? Is that where the fitment issue is?

I really like Magnaflows and planned on getting them but if that's the way they are gonna look then I will have to rethink that!

I used the Corvette Central 2 1/2" pipes with Magnaflows system and it fit fine. It was too loud for my taste, though. I added a 2" balance pipe behind the trans crossmember after a while. The balance pipe really quieted it down on the highway. Not much difference around town. The balance pipe took some of the rowdiness away from the dual exhaust sound. Mellowed it some. I miss that a bit.

Sorry about that . The photo you see is the original system. That is the reason why I had purchased the dual conversion kit from CC. That exhaust was already on the car when I bought it.

I have 2.5 inch Magnaflow mufflers with 3 inch tips. The mufflers can't be seen from the side of the car.
OP - did you get a hanger/support for where the 2 pipes will pass through the trans crossmember? Gotta have it.

OEM "round" mufflers.

CC "Hide-away" mufflers.

I just ordered this kit for my '76. Can you explain the above "hanger support" comment? Is there something else I'm going to need to purchase? I have two exhaust holes in my frame already. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something that I'm going to need when the pipes arrive.
