Default Rear Spindle installation

I had an interesting issue with new spindle install tool from Ecklers. It's 1/8 inch short pulling in the spindle. Which loads the bearings and you can't apply the proper tq.
Anyone have ideas How solve without taking out the spindle?

as there's no pictures, please forgive the seemingly simple question

did you remove all of the spacers off the spindle tool before you put the first bearing on?

The tool has a long threaded socket that screws onto the spindle end. A larger tube slides over that and has a nut onthe end that pulls the spindle into the bearing housing. No spacers. The problem is the tool bottoms out before the spindle is in far enough. It's about 1/8 inch short. If you tighten the spindle nut with 35 or mor lbs it loads the bearing. I have 73 Corvette

The regular yoke and spindle nut will pull it down the rest of the way. If it tightens up on the bearings, you have done something wrong with the spacers.

I have the spacers correct, but I am worried about stripping the spindle nut. Thanks

Spindle tool with spacer still on

spacer is between the bearings and spindle is assembled with bearings
