sloppy steering ??
i noticed that if i turn my steering wheel it seems to have a lot of play..it turns quite a bit without moving the wheels..where would this problem stem from..not thats its a problem but i would like to tighten up the steering a bit..thanx :confused:

check the steering coupler (aka rag joint) first, then all tie rods and tie rod ends. There is a procedure for adjusting the steering box. See maintenance manuals and the Vette Improvement Program section on steering in the archives.
Replacing the idler arm will also tighten things up a bit.

I agree with flynhi, it could be any one of those. Have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth while you look over the entire system. You will be able to see where the play is. Then it's a matter of replacing parts or adjusting as needed.
