Does this sound funny to you?
i bought a mint '81 off this guy,(who i trust)... and the check engine light was on since i bought it. anyone heard of this?
Not to worry.
The original carbeurator (which you have) has an electronic rich/lean solenoid.
When I replaced with the new carb (without a solenoid), and the electrical connection
remained unplugged, the light came on to tell me that my emissions solenoid is not functioning.
I elected to cover the light with a piece of electrical tape rather trhan unplugging .
I am told that if I jumper the plug with a resistor, I can fool the warning light?
