Disabling vac sec on holley carb
Im foolin with different jet sizes on my 600 vac sec. Im first working on the primary jets. I will be reading the spark plug color in order to determine if too rich or not. During this process I would like to disable the secondaries. Can anyone give me clue on the simplest way to disable the secs so they dont play into the equasion? I wont be the only one driving the car during the test. Telling my wife not to floor it wont work, as she has a real lead foot. Disabling them entirely will. Thanks in advance for any replies.

The rod that comes out of the secondary actuator can be disconnected at the throttle shaft. There is an E-clip, remove the clip and slide the actuator rod off of the throttle arm. Use some wire to tie down the throttle shaft so it doesn't open on its own.
Or you could just change the spring to the stiffest one available (or put two in). It wouldn't open until you hit 10,000 rpm.
