Since I put the drivetrain / rear suspension back in the car, and since I replaced the tach cable, my E-brake light doesn't come on when I pull up the handle. Where do I begin looking? I don't recall any electrical stuff in the rear suspension - so I'm guessing it's probably dash related.... Any ideas? E-brake works (sorta, it's never been that good) and the light USED to come onn before bubbette was there that is.....
I think you may have to go back under the dash. When you installed the tach cable, you may have dislocated the "BRAKE" light bulb. I would check there first. If the bulb is in place, you can check for voltage at the socket with a test light. I know it's not an easy place to get at ( at least not for me ) but I have done it in the past. Good luck.
I was afraid of that. :smash: Oh well, I needed to swap the seats from right to left anyways.... Think I'll live with it for a while though. The C4 is crying for some attention for a change.
Uh, actually right & left in 1970 are the same. Thing is the one currently on the left leans back further than the one on the right (it's the adjustment, not the little knobbie things - I think the locking thing for the back is shot). I usually have the pass side one notch further forward so it doesn't hit the deck lid. Now I have the driver one too far forward or it hits at the back. :( ~Juliet
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'd hate for you to go to all the trouble of changing seats and then find out they won't work that way. Have fun with the C4. Looks like you've got some cool cars there. I have been driving my brother's '84 all week. It's a really great car. He has it for sale, so I'm keeping it exercised for him while he drives the 2000. Life is tough, huh?
sometimes with my car, the switch sticks a bit when i pull the parking brake. it's just a matter of reaching in and helping it up. i wonder if that's all it is for you?
