A while back I had to change the defective prom chip in my 81. I removed the ECM to do this and when I was putting it back in, two of the little rubber plug/nuts that the bracket screws thread into pushed through and fell out under the car. (Due to the rubber being 32 or so years old and very brittle) I was wondering if these little rubberized nuts and screws are available anywhere or am I s.o.l.? Because they fell through, they are too cracked to stay in place to properly hold the bracket in tightly now.
Your local hardware should have something that will work. There are lots of names for them. Some of them have a nut and sleeve inside the rubber. Push the insert into the drilled hole, insert a screw with a washer. Tighten the screw and it collapses the sleeve securing the nut into the hole.
