Default Urethane Primer question

I'm repainting my front bumper soon due to some paint chipping off and was wondering how to sand it down properley (what grades? wet or dry) and if anyone has used "Sem" flex primers in spray bombs? I talked to a guy at a paint supply store and he says this is the stuff to use. You guys have any info for me?! thanks

Havent used the SEM stuff for urethanes so I cant comment. If its a urethane bumper, keep the film build thin. Clean real well - dawn liquid detergent works well. Then I'de sand out as many of the imperfections as possible with 150-180. Try not to fill to much if at all. If necessary, fill with a resin/hardener made for urethane. They come in kits. Then I'de work my way up thru 400-600. Clean real well again. Then epoxy primer mixed as a sealer, then 2 coats base and 2 flexed clear. This has worked for me.

Justin, If you want to use spray bombs, the SEM is good stuff. Alot of body shops use it for spot priming. It does not sand very easy though. the flex in it makes it gum up sandpaper. Good Luck, Craig
