Gkull I think you mean the TKO-600 RR or as in Road Race. Of which I have installed Both the standard and the RR Trans and I like the RR far more. Much less Drop from 4th to 5th and the .82 is enough.

As for the Original question. As has been said many times if one can not say anything nice.

I just looked at this info. With a 3.36 and only a 383 I would opt for the wide ratio .80 OD

Close Ratio
Wide Ratio*

2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, .68/.80

2.97, 2.07, 1.43, 1.00, .68/.80

Just finished my rs500 install a few weeks ago and just love it. 70 mph at 2000rpm with a 3.36 rear. It's now a pleasure to drive on the highway.
Well worth the effort and expense if you drive the car a lot.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to respond. I utilized your input as well as several convesations with Paul Cameau at the Corvette Shop. Bottom line, I pulled the trigger on the SS 700. It is scheduled for a September delivery and this fits my timeline for a winter build very well. If you are interested, I will update this string as the engine and transmission are installed.

Best of luck to you!!! If I knew 100% that the ETA they gave was accurate I would probably consider the SS700.

Keep us up-to-date!

Just a quick update... Kiesler sent me an email yesterday advising me that my 9/9 ship date was pushed out to sometime in October. Not good!

Go figure..... Glad I went with a Tremec T56 Magnum instead of playing Kielser's waiting games. Hope you get yours soon!

Looks like I won't be putting my order in until at least December 2013 or maybe the spring of 2014.

Maybe that will give Kiesler enough time to catch up on their outstanding orders.

TKO 600 arrived in <2 weeks from the vendor with the big "H". No issues with 2-3 shift. Shifter is tight and smooth! After reading all the horror stories about the constant "K-Delay" i went the other route and quite pleased that I did...and the tech and customer support from my chosen vendor was timely and awesome!

So far up to 4k I have had no issues! But new motor and trans and cant say ive really pushed it yet, and wont be tracking the car on any regular basis. Tremec does also state max shift rpm @6k. So far it's tougher hitting 1-2. However there is no such thing as easy!..it takes technique as well. No more than a muncie, just different. Coming down 5-4 is also proving tricky to master. I have <250 miles on this thing and I understand they get smoother as they break in. So far so I am quite pleased.

Just like the open palm push from 2-3 you just pull back with your fingers for 5-4 shift. You have to let it move to the center gate by itself. The more I tried to find the gate the more I missed it.

Delivery update... Kiesler advised me in October that my new ETA was November. And they hit my credit card for the balance of the payment! I called them today just to check and make sure that November was still a good date. Now they tell me December! WE are now talking 7 months for delivery... assuming that the December date is legitimate.

It's unfortunate that they seem to have wave after wave of supplier issues because the SS700 is REALLY one nice trans!

I was skeptical about installing anything that didn't have a Competition Plus shifter on it but I can honestly say, the SS700 shifts as good as, if not better than a Muncie with a Competition Plus.
I'd buy another one in a second provided they could deliver in a semi-reasonable time frame..

Wow, that is what I call a delay.

From an original shipping date of September moved to December?

I think that even placing my order for the SS700 in the spring of 2014 may be a long shot at this point.

I don't know if they will ever get to less than 1 to 2 months delivery time from time of order.

In stock inventory maybe on a big wish list that might never be.

Well that confirms my original doubt about ordering from Keisler!

I don't care how great a transmission the SS700 might be, the constant delays and missed deadlines are enough to kill many potential orders. I hate it for them because if they had their production times down, I would have one in my car right now.

In other news, my T56 Magnum has been excellent for the past few months!

Personally, I don't think I should have to 're-learn' how to shift due to the shortcomings of a new transmission-

If I didn't have to do it with my 40 year old Muncie, I sure as hell don't want to do it now with a brand new 5-speed.
That's why I went with the SS700.
Totally different design. If you want the muncie style design go with the Richmond or wait the rest of your life for SS700!

I would say something but things are pretty self evident. And things are so sad how can one laugh.

Ok one thing. It is all Bush's fault lol.

I ordered mine 27 December 12. Was told April delivery, then May and then June. The balance of payment was taken in May.
It was delivered on 9th July.
It took 6 1/2 months from order to delivery. Hopefully yours will be very close
