I want to modify my c3 1972 exhaust system, 350 stock engine with original manifold, H-pipe or Y-pipe would be better?

Thanks, that was clear, but I have put magnaflow mufflers, do you think I'll get a better sound with 2.5" H pipe instead of the original pipes?

I just installed a dual conversion kit from Corvette Central. 2 1/2 pipes with the Magnaflows. I have a thread running in this forum New exhaust arrived today, check it out. I felt it was a good choice. Easy install, sounds and looks great.

I have the same sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. I went with the RacePros. I hope it is a great fit indeed......

I am living in Bahrain, so the shipping charge will be high. Can I order the X pipe only and fabricate the piping locally?

I put corvette centrals true dual system on my '81 with magnaflows, 2.5" with H-pipe--- the price was good and the fit was excellent, I did have to "tweak" the manifold section a tiny bit but I think that is common on most systems you buy for a DYI installation.

When you say you had to tweak the manifold section a bit, can you elaborate more please?
I bought a complete Magnaflow system for my 72 BB and the downpipe from the manifold to the crossmember is so terribly off that the bends all seem wrong. There is no way I can clear my TH400 tranny pan currently and am trying to figure out how to solve this. Mandrel benders are extremely hard to find in my neck of the woods and I'd like to hear how others "made good" the fit.
Mohamed, you can purchase X pipes from a number of suppliers and then fabricate the rest yourself !
Thx

I have this system. Installed it about a year ago and love it. The sound is awesome and the install was easy. I got the complete kit with the Patriot 'tight tuck' headers.

all I had to do was open up the distance between the pipes that go up to the manifolds, NOW, I do have long tube headers on it now so it's likely the fit would have been dead on with the factory manifolds so I can't really complain about the fit, I only had to spread them open about 1/2" to make them fit the headers.
