Hi there,
newbie on the forum, was wondering if anyone can identify the year of these seats. They are coming up in a local online auction and I am considering replacing my 73 stock seats with these, but need to know what will need modifying to do so. Unfortunately the gentleman passed away and no one in the family knows the year they are from.
They look to be C-5 sport seats. Have them in the 68, very comfortable and the power drivers side is a good feature. You'll need to make your own mounts or use your existing slides.
Depending on how tall you are and whether your car is a coupe or convertible will determine how you do the mounts. I'm 5'11'' with a ragtop and was able to keep the power function by making mounts that put the seat about 1" above the floor. They are extremely comfortable.
thanks, I'm only 5'9" so the height issue should not be a problem with the T-tops. I can use the slides from my 73's seats on them?
Definitely C5 sport seats. Yes, you can mount those to your original tracks. You'll have to drill/tap 4 new holes in the C5 frames and get some longer bolts and spacers, but there's not much more to it.
A friend of mine did exactly that with his '73:
Here's what my '76 tracks look like mounted to the bottom of C5 seats:
