I had a Ram clutch that would slip. I replaced it with a Centerforce. The clutch does not slip but if I get on it from a roll or grab second hard I get wheel hop which I didn't get before. Any suggestions? I have the "Vette Brakes" offset swing arms with poly bushings with the 360# fiberglass spring and 7/8 inch sway bar with poly bushings and KYB gas shocks. The tires are 275/60 15 on 8 inch rallyes.
I've got the same problem with a stock 9-leaf and delco gas shocks. I've heard some say that the edelbrock IAS shocks can fix this but don't have enough info yet to justify the cost. I'll be following this thread in the hope of a solution for both of us. :smash:
By the way, welcome to the forum judging by your post count.
I started getting violent wheel hop after I dialed in the car with a more powerfull motor, wider stickier rear tires, 5-leaf spring and stiff shocks. Finally broke the ring gear carrier. Problem solved when I had the rear end rebuilt with zero end play on the half shafts. Any play in any rear wheel locating device may cause wheel hop, check your strut rods, shock mounting points, differential front mount and u-joints.
SPIN YOUR TIRES WITH FREEDOM AND MAKE SOLID BLACK STRIPES
This topic has been brought up before and it seems some people have it and some don't. And no coorelation to the parts on the car to help figure out what is causing it.
I get my hop at the strip..... never on the street, I just spin. I have a stock 9 leaf spring I believe and KYB gas-a-adjusts.
