electrical help. relay??
Ok so what I did today was test some stuff.
The fuel relay I am assuming was replaced by the previous owner. Oryliey said that it should be a 5 pin relay. It now has a 4 pin relay #h270. From the relay there was one exposed wire not connected to anything. I'll call this wire 4.
Using a test light connected to the NEG and the ignition off I found 1 is constant power to a fuse that was wired to 1 wire is bridge to a thing that was connected to the battery. Pin 2,3,4 nothing.
Now with the ignition on wires 2,3 light up. 4 nothing.
Light connected to POS on battery and ignition on pin 4. It lights up.
If I get the car started and unplug the battery the car still runs.
I don't even make sense to me but if someone knows what is happening let me know.
Any idea??

What color is the disconnected wire?
The wire you check when you put your tester to the positive side of the battery is your ground needed for the contactor coil.
When you turn your ignition on. One of the other two wires send power to the contactor coil so it will entergize and close the contacts. This will cause the other wire to be hot and send power to your pump.
This sounds like it is working correctly. One ground , two input hot wires, and one output hot wire.
