Must wheel adapters be hub centric in order to fit wheels? I purchased hub centric wheel adapters for the front wheels I'm putting on my vette (rear wheels are good) thinking the front hub is the same size as the rear but it is not. The adapter does not sit flush with the hat of the rotor due to the smaller opening on the adapters. The reason I ask is will it be more expensive to have these adapters machined to fit the front hub, or have them machined so they are no longer hub centric vs purchasing non hub centric adapters.

No they don't have to be hub centric,
this is a highly debated subject on the forum so get ready,
I spoke with an engineer at work (I don't have an engineering background) and asked him to take a look at this issue prior to putting them on my car. The tension strength of 5-7/16" studs exceeds the load the wheel will see while driving.
