Default 75 Corvette Tires

As anyone put Firestone Wide Oval's on their vette. I have the Aluminum rims and when I got vette a couple of months ago it came with 4 brand new F70-15 Firestone Wide Oval's not installed, the car has Goodyears Eagle's on it but they are toast. I know they are like 238.00 a piece and they are are new. Thanks

These must be the recently released repro tires and not original tires made in 1975. If so, put them on and let us know. If not, use them for show purposes only.

Have Firestone Firehawk's 255-60-15 on my 76.Looks like they are discontinued now!! Costco tires has the BF Goodrich,or try looking into Cooper,or Mickey Thompson ST for that white letter old school look.15 inch tires are getting harder find nowadays!!

Since I have these Firestone Wide Oval the thought was to try and use or maybe sale. They are new and look great. How do you post picture? Love your car, looks great

Be extremely careful if you do not know what you have. The F70-15 size of tire went out of manufacture way, way back. The modern equivalent size is P225-70R15. If your tires are actual F70s, they can look new and still be 30 year old tires.

My advice would be to take one to a tire shop and have them determine whether you have newer reproduction tires or very old F70s.

Do a Google and you'll find out how to find the date.

Firestone Wide Ovals were bias ply tires. Your 75 Corvette originally came with radials, and the OEM tire size was GR70x15.

Besides the fact that the F70x15's are shorter and narrower, than the original tires, I just won't ever put bias ply tires, on a car originally equipped radials. By putting a bias ply tire on your 75, you'd be degrading the handling, stopping and starting performance, of the car.

Putting an under sized tire of inferior construction, on your car, just doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

If they're not the correct size i.e. oem for the car, I'd sell them and get radials as gbvette62 observed.
