This has been talked about a couple times on here ,it comes down to what you prefer, some studies on here said that the side pipes will give you lower hp then duel exhaust ,I don't know ,but its been stated on here a lot ,about what muffler to run,I had it in a book about all mufflers, some do flow better then others ,BUT there is only like 5 hp difference in all mufflers.compare a flowmaster with a straight through muffler like dynomax ultraflos , it states in that book and others have said it to ,that between these two mufflers there is only a 3 to 5 hp difference .then I would say it comes down to how they sound to a person.I like sidepipes ,but if you have little ones its best not to have them, kids could get burned bad and leave a nasty scar for life.I say put on what ever you like and enjoy it.

540 with max flows. Not too quiet.

Thank you, I like them a lot. Had STS Baffles for years and while generally pleased with them, they could have a tinny sound at times. The Max-Flows are in-your-face loud when you get on them with a nice tone, at least to me. I have a TKO600 with 0.64 overdrive, so highway driving doesn't bother me. I'm a rather-listen-to-the-exhaust-than-the-radio type anyway.

Nice job on your dual-mode system.

I need to invest in better video equipment.

73 and beyond, true duals
72 and below, side pipes.

Don't ask me how I came up with that - but it just feels 'natural'

As far as HP goes, true duel exhaust or sidepipes can both be made to perform well on the street.

I prefer the long tube headers on sidepipes for efficient extraction.

Remember, if your under car system has an x or crossover pipe it is not true duel. Simply an expensive single that looks cool from the back.

I vote long tube headers, no cats, and Magna's out the back. More power with duals than side pipes (no hard bends in the headers) stright flow. But my thing is mean with a ton of power. Who cares if it looks good when your losing 10-20 HP.
