Any idea's on what could be draining my battery? I'll drive the car on weekends mainly, if I happen to let a weekend go by the battery is dead the next time I jump in. I have a new 1000 cca battery that I installed earlier this spring. Tonight I noticed when I jump started it that the altmeter stayed right in the center. It seems like it should have registered to the right showing a higher rate of charge. I also switched to a one wire alternator when I installed the battery.
Mine started doing the same thing just about a month ago and it was the battery. I was surprised that it was the battery because I just replaced the old one with a 84 month orbital battery from napa about a year ago but it was, so they gave me a new one. I also had an alternator go bad one time and was pulling the battery down. If you still have problems hook a 12V light with alagator clips on the positive post and the other on the battery cable that has been disconected from the battery. If the bulb burns bright you still have draw. Unplug fuses until the light goes out and then see what the fuse controls. This may help to find the problem. :seeya Mike
I had a similar problem - traced it to a 74-only feature. Killed a battery and an alternator in the process.
I have a battery shut-off switch, and highly recommend it for a weekend driver - saves on the battery leak and possibly could save your vette from an impromptu electrical fireworks show while you're not watching.
I've had the car sit for extended periods with the battery switched off - fires right up when connected. Also a great gag on my sister when it's disconnected - "what did you do! Argh!" :D
