Im only responding because I see 77 reads and no responses...Why are you looking for weight? I dont know the difference, I can only tell you that post 78 has different locking mechanisms and therefore I assume different weight.
I have glass T-tops and read somewhere that fiberglass T-tops weight less and now I'm curious. I also have fiberglass T-tops, but it will be difficult to get to them. If they are different weights for different years then I would need to know the same style as mines weight. I'm sure it's a small difference in weight, and that is why I am asking and not spending a couple days to be able to weigh my fiberglass. The thing I can do is weigh my glass and compare it to some1 elses fiberglass. I tried to search the weight and didn't find it so figured I'd ask.
That is correct. Glass tops are heavier than fiberglass tops. I do not know by how much. Weigh one of yours and have a friend weigh one of his/hers.
The difference will not be all that much, probably best if you could weigh them both on the same scale to remove any differences in the scale's calibration.
I weighed one of the roof panels off one of my '71's, on an accurate scale. It weighed 14.2 lbs.
Thx for the info, just went out and took off my glass t-top 17lbs 1oz postal scale on top of a box zeroed. Was 17.6lbs diff me holding it on my bathroom scale. So just less than 3lb per side.
